Hope Eloise
A family shot in front of the Giant Heart at the Franklin Institute. Seems appropriate.

Surgery is a Success!
We just met with Hope's surgeon, Dr. Tom Spray. He reports that her surgery went very well. The cardiology department had been doing a number of echo's trying to visualize some particular defects or issues. Dr. Spray reported that he did not detect any of those very small defects and that every thing went very smoothly. She's back in the CICU, and as soon as she is settled -- or more appropriately, the staff is settled, she'll be sedated for roughly the next 24 hours -- we will be able to go see her. Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers.

I am so ecstatic to hear that the surgery went well! I have been praying and I know a lot of people have also been praying for her today. Thank you God! I wrote a poem for Hope Eloise while she was in surgery. I just wanted to share it with you all:
Hope's Light
The dawn of Hope brings light to our world, a place that sometimes seems too dismal and full of blight
Now feels like everything is going to be alright
The angels now sing so softly to stir the gentle soul of the newborn girl
Into a fight so intense, so strong that our world now spins into an uncontrollable whirl.
She is so valiant and feels the love all around
She hears the sweet laugh of her Pop Pop from heaven, such a comforting sound.
Hope Eloise brings all of us the gentle peace and love that we long for in our hearts and soul
She is the sweetest angel sent from the heavens to remind us what makes us whole
It is through the Blessings of God in all of us that give us joy and peace
Now He gives us the wonderful Hope whose courageous fight will never cease.
That is wonderful news Justice family. Thank you so much for the updates, we've been praying for hours. Please keep us posted on Hope's progress.
What wonderful news that Hope's surgery is over. Now it's uphill from here! Thank you so much for keeping us informed through this blog. This is a tough time for you all and please know we are praying for all of you.

Hope (and family!) remain in our thoughts and prayers. We give thanks to God for the successful surgery. Please continue to let us know how we can support you all.
What a beautiful precious miracle!
Blessings, Katie and Tony Sundermeier
Monica and Kevin congratulations on the birth of Hope. She appears to be so beautiful and strong. Everyone contiunes to stay in my prayers though I know Hope has many angels looking down on her and I am sure St. Joseph is with her and all the doctors and nurses who are working and caring for her. Give my best to Shane and Olivia I am sure they are anxiously awaiting to see and play with their new sister. A true miracle again has blessed our extended family!!!! Kathy Foley
Kevin and Monica,
There are so many thoughts going through my mind. I think of the two of you and how well you both have handled this stressful time. You have shown a togetherness from the first time you found out that Hope would be having heart surgery after she was born. Your love for each other shone while Monica was in the labor room before Hope was born. Then, your love for each other and your baby was so evident when you first laid eyes on her. This is a stressful time but you both did not allow it to change the way you feel for each other and your children.
As Monica's mother, this means so much to me. Your baby is beautiful and she is blessed to be born into such a loving family.
I feel so much better now having seen her and hearing from the medical staff that she is doing very well after her operation. I am also very thankful to God for giving me each of you.
Love, peace and joy,
Mom
